Answers to the questions we hear most
For Parents & Carers
The first step is a conversation. Use our Clarity Portal or call us — we will listen to your situation, explain what we can offer, and help you understand the options. If your child has an EHCP or is on a school roll, we usually work with the school to set up the placement.
We primarily work through commissioning schools and local authorities, as they hold safeguarding responsibility. However, parents and carers are central to our process — we involve you in every consultation and keep you informed throughout the placement.
That is exactly who we support. Many of the young people we work with have had extended absences. We start with relationship-building, not academic pressure, and work at a pace that feels safe for your child.
Sessions can take place at our Safe Space in Nottinghamshire, in community venues, at your child's school, or online. We discuss the best setting during the initial consultation.
Yes. We work with young people who have EHCPs and those who do not. We align our provision with EHCP outcomes and contribute to annual reviews with detailed progress reports.
We work with young people with a wide range of needs, including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), ADHD, PDA (Pathological Demand Avoidance), EBSA (emotionally-based school avoidance), SEMH needs, anxiety and depression, attachment difficulties, Dyslexia, Dyspraxia, Tourette's Syndrome, MLD, SLD, and Speech, Language and Communication Needs. Our provision is neurodiversity-affirming and trauma-informed, and each plan is tailored to the individual.
For Schools & Local Authorities
We aim to begin provision within 5–10 working days of a confirmed referral, depending on staffing and safeguarding checks. Emergency placements are considered on a case-by-case basis.
Fees vary depending on the service, hours, and setting. We provide a written provision proposal with a clear cost breakdown within 3 working days of the consultation meeting. Contact us for our current rate card.
Yes. We prepare pupils for GCSE and Functional Skills qualifications. We work with the commissioning school to arrange exam entries — the school typically acts as the exam centre, though we can discuss alternative arrangements.
We provide weekly progress notes and termly progress reports to the commissioning school. We attend PEP and EHCP review meetings where appropriate, and share safeguarding logs via CPOMS or MyCON.
We ask for relevant EHCP details, pastoral information, risk assessments, and any multi-agency involvement. We agree in writing who holds safeguarding lead responsibility and how concerns will be communicated.
No — we are an unregistered alternative provision provider, which is a legitimate category under DfE guidance. We align with the Voluntary National Standards for Non-School Alternative Provision and KCSIE 2026. The commissioning school retains safeguarding responsibility for all placed pupils.
